Google Announced the Android Cross-Device Features: All Details
Google expanded cross-device sharing features to more Android users at the Google I/O 2024 developer conference in May. Currently, these features are limited to call casting and internet sharing. Read the details inside.

These features are available for Android 11 and above and are rolling out widely with version 24.35.30 of Google Play Services on Pixel and Samsung Galaxy devices.
The company's Nearby Share feature enables quick and easy file transfers between nearby devices and will now be available on more Android models. In addition, Google is introducing new features to enhance the cross-device experience, such as the ability to copy and paste text across devices and share device screens.
"We're excited to make it even easier for our users to connect and collaborate across their devices," said a Google spokesperson. "By expanding our cross-device sharing features, we're providing a more seamless and intuitive experience."
The update is expected to benefit users who frequently switch between multiple devices, such as those who use their smartphones for work and their tablets for entertainment. It could also be helpful for students who need to share files between their laptops and phones for homework or projects.
Google has not announced a specific timeline for rolling out the new cross-device sharing features. However, the company has stated that the update will be available to Android devices in the coming months.
