Google is prepping up to launch its next iteration of Pixel phones that is Pixel 9 series. The tech giant has already teased the arrival via a social media post on X (formerly known as Twitter). Now that the launch date is inching closer, the phone's specifications and features are also being teased on the internet. Here is everything that we know so far about the upcoming Google Pixel phones.

As the release of the Google Pixel 9 series draws near, we can hardly contain our enthusiasm. Google is preparing for the August 14 launch event wherein, the company will unveil its new Pixel phone lineup in India. Google has given us a glimpse of the next Google Pixel 9 Pro and Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, but we still don't know the exact specs. However, the expected features of the upcoming Google Pixel smartphone generation has been leaked online. Here are all details that we know so far about the upcoming Google Pixel 9 series.
Google Pixel 9 series to debut on August 14: Models that you can expect
First thing first! The Google Pixel 9 series is tipped to compromise four new models—the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. This would be the second foldable phone from Google and the first to debut in India. Although not much has been revealed, the official teaser indicated that Google AI, Gemini, will be heavily interwoven into the smartphones.
Google Pixel 9 series: colour scheme and design
The Google Pixel 9 series will be available in new hues, including pink, off-white (perhaps dubbed Porcelain White), light grey, and dark grey. The rear panel could be soft matte, while the sides would be glossy or polished. The phones may come with a unique appearance thanks to the redesigned camera island. There seems to be a noticeable protrusion from the back panel on the camera island. The Pro model could ship with three lenses whereas a typical Pixel might contain two lenses. On the other hand, Pixel 9 Pro Fold is likely to ship with a square camera island with rounded corners. On the front, these phones could house a punch hole cutout on the front is intended for the selfie camera.

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is likely to sport a 6.3-inch Actua Front (cover screen) and 8-inch Super Actua Flex display (inner screen). On the camera front, the Pixel 9's rear cameras could comprise a 50MP wide camera and a 48MP ultrawide snapper. The Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 XL model will sport 48MP ultrawide, a 48MP telephoto, and a 50MP primary camera.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold would boast three cameras including a 10.8MP telephoto sensor, a 10.5MP ultrawide camera, and a 48MP primary camera. On the front, the Pixel 9 could get a 10.5MP selfie camera while Pixel 9 Pro and XL variants would get a 42MP, and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will feature a 10MP selfie camera.
For the performance, all the Pixel 9 smartphones would come equipped with Tensor G4 chipset paired with up to 16GB of RAM.
Other key highlights are Gemini AI integration, seven years of security updates and Pixel Drops (software upgrades with new features exclusive to Pixel devices) are promised by Google. The new Pixels are also said to provide users with Emergency SOS, which sends out crisis notifications about fires or flooding in the area.
