Motorola Edge 50 has been unveiled in India and is claimed to be the slimmest MIL-810H-rated curved smartphone in the segment. The phone supports an IP68-rated splash resistant. The phone comes equipped with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 accelerated edition chipset and a 50-megapixel Sony-Lytia 700C led dual rear camera. The new handset joins the Motorola Edge 50 Pro, Edge 50 Ultra, and Edge 50 Fusion that have already been launched in India.

Motorola Edge 50 Price and availability

The Motorola Edge 50 price starts in India at Rs 27,999 for the sole 8GB + 256GB RAM and Configuration . The handset will be available for sale via Flipkart and the official Motorola India website starting from August 8 onwards. Additionally, customers using an Axis Bank or IDFC First Bank credit card or credit card EMI can avail an instant discount of Rs. 2,000, bringing the price down to Rs 25,999.

The phone will be available in three colourways — Jungle Green, Pantone Peach Fuzz, and Koala Grey. The first two colour options get a vegan leather finish, while the third one sports a vegan suede finish.

Motorola Edge 50 Specifications

The Motorola Edge 50 sports a 6.7-inch 1.5K Super HD pOLED curved display offering a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,900 nits of peak brightness. The phone also has an HDR10+ support, and SGS Blue Light Reduction certification. It is also said to support Smart Water Touch technology allowing users to access the phone even with wet hands.

Powering the handset is a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 AE (Accelerated Edition) chipset, that comes paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage. It runs on Android 14-based Hello UI out-of-the-box.

Snapdragon India announced in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that the Snapdragon X platform will be introduced in the country on February 24. Although the chipmaker has not yet disclosed any details, the event's title, "AI PCs for Everyone," raises the possibility that the new processors will be aimed at providing AI capabilities at a cost-effective price. According to the company, this platform is scalable across a broad range of thermal designs and form factors.

Qualcomm Snapdragon X CPUs Expected Specifications

Like their international counterparts, Qualcomm's Snapdragon X CPUs are anticipated to have eight Oryon CPU cores with a maximum clock speed of 3GHz and be constructed using a 4 nanometer fabrication process. The Snapdragon X Plus and Elite versions, which have clock speeds of up to 3.4GHz and 3.8GHz, respectively, are faster than this. Up to three external displays can be supported by the Qualcomm Adreno GPU at 4K/60Hz.

With a memory bandwidth of 135GB/s and a total cache of 30MB, the chip can accommodate up to 64GB of LPDDR5x RAM.
