WhatsApp Testing Out on Introducing Customizable Chat Themes for iOS and Android to Enhance User Experience
To improve user experience, WhatsApp has been working on a new feature for iOS and Android users that allows them to customize the chat theme. This update will allow users to customise the chat bubbles and wallpapers to their liking, enhancing their experience. Here's all you need to know about it.
According to the latest reports and information, this update will allow the users to enjoy more control over the app's visual interface. The feature was initially spotted in WhatsApp beta for iOS version 24.11.10.70, and later in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.17.19. It also comes as a part of WhatsApp's ongoing efforts at introducing new features consistently to cater to its vast user base. With a million users relying on the app for daily communication, this new customization option is expected to be a welcomed.
Historically, WhatsApp allowed its users to change the background wallpaper within the chat, but the chat bubbles remained the same. The new WhatsApp feature will allow users to select at least ten different chat themes. Once the theme is selected, the color of the chat bubble and the wallpaper will also change to match the chosen theme.
Another report also mentions that a following update may include a manual override option, meaning that it will enable the users to change and customise specific chat bubbles and wallpapers for individual conversations (a feature already seen in other Meta owned apps like Instagram).
This new feature, currently in development on WhatsApp beta for iOS, is also expected to be included in future Android updates, as observed in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.17.19 from the Google Play Store.
