HMD Hyper Design and Features Leaked; Could Look Like Nokia Lumia Phone

HMD Global's upcoming smartphone, the HMD Hyper, have been making headlines way before its launch. Recent leaked renders and specifications offer a glimpse into what could be a revival of the iconic Nokia Lumia design language. The device is expected to sport a vibrant OLED panel with a high refresh rate. Here is everything we know so far.

HMD, the Finnish manufacturer will reportedly launch a smartphone soon by the name of HMD Hyper. The smartphone's specs have surfaced online ahead of launch, indicating that it would include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and a 120Hz OLED display. Furthermore, there have been rumors that the device may incorporate some design cues from the Nokia Lumia series due to purported renders of the device that have leaked recently. This news was made just a few days after the HMD Barbie Flip Phone's specifications were also made public.

HMD Hyper Expected Specifications

Tipster HMD_MEME'S (@smashx_60) revealed a number of details regarding the rumored HMD Hyper in a post on X (previously Twitter). It is reported that the smartphone will include a full-HD+ OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Additionally, the HMD Hyper could run on a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor. It can have up to 256GB of storage, which can be increased with a microSD card, and up to 8GB of RAM. The insider claims that the phone may receive a 4,700mAh battery with 33W charging support.

The handset will reportedly ship with three back cameras comprising an 8-megapixel secondary sensor, a 13-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), and a 50-megapixel primary camera. It is rumoured to have a 50-megapixel selfie camera on the front.

The camera system is speculated to record videos at up to 30 frames per second (fps) and 4K resolution. As an alternative, users might be able to record at 1080p at 60 frames per second.

Furthermore, the leaked details also suggest that the smartphone is likely to get a similar design as the Nokia Lumia 920, as seen in bright yellow colour scheme, which is identical to the former phone's colour. It is rumoured to have a circular display with black bezels housed in a flat, boxy frame. It looks that the power and volume buttons are located on the right spine. The rear camera module, located at the upper left, and the HMD branding may be seen on the phone's back.
