The virtual reality (VR) landscape has seen significant shifts in market share during the third quarter of 2024, with Meta maintaining its strong lead and Apple solidifying its position as a key player. The decline was mainly attributed to a 50 percent fall in the tethered VR headset category during the quarter. In comparison, the independent VR headset segment increased by 14 percent year over year.
Counterpoint anticipates that international sales will represent almost 90 percent of Apple's overall shipments in the second half of 2024.
